To use a classical Heraclitean term, 'this is and is not' ambient. Anyone would classify it ofcourse as ambient, all typical elements are present. Yet, at the same time, you can not use this music as background for reading or other activities (thus it is not ambient under Brian Eno's criteria); this music is so maginificent and evocative that you will not be able to forsake it for a second. An album not to be used but to experienced at its fullness. Eno may had discovered ambient, but Wiese made it make sense.
