Discussion about Olivia Newton-John - Long Live Love
Tisicai
Long Live Love is Olivia’s fourth studio album and was released in 1974, when she was 26. It was not released in the US but some tracks would feature on her next US and Canada-only album ─ If You Love Me, Let Me Know ─ released later that year. The album’s title refers to the song Olivia sang at the 1974 Eurovision contest (which would ultimately be won by ABBA with Waterloo). Along with it, five other tracks considered for the contest make up half the album: Angle Eyes, Someday, Loving You Ain’t Easy, Have Love Will Travel, and Hands Across the Sea. According to Olivia, she did not want to sing Long Live Love for Eurovision but instead preferred Angle Eyes. However, the choice of song was left to the UK public which ultimately decided on Long Live Love.Olivia’s first 1# single in the US, I Honestly Love You, also features on the album.Overall the album is well-rounded and easy listening, showcasing a nice range of Olivia’s music styles.
