Discussion about Jade Warrior - Elements: The Island Anthology
Murn
This 2CD set was promoted as the complete Island "Elements" anthology, although that's not quite true as "Waves" is notably truncated (not that you'd know to listen to it), and a couple of other pieces have trimmed fade-in/outs.Apart from those changes, the albums are pretty much "as is" authentic to the original LP's, but without the groove noise that was always an irritant on albums that were partly almost silent. To those (like me) that hate clicks and crackle in their music, this set was almost a dream come true.I know of two editions of this set: 1) from 1995, which came with an outer box / slip sleeve; 2) from 2001 (just a standard duobox) - both from the US. Anyone seen the European version? I suspect it may have just been stickered on the shrikwrap.I notice that some people laud the new Eclectic/Esoteric remasters, although I think they've polished them a mite too much, without thought for the tape edits and other glitches that you can now hear - especially on headphones!
