Notes
As can be seen from the text, these songs were recorded during the years of 1954, 1971, 1973 and 1979. They represent songs of the Bāul from both the Bengals, West Bengal in India and today's Bangladesh, known as East Bengal before the partition of India in 1947 and then East Pakistan when the country became the eastern wing of Pakistan. Finally, the country was named Bangladesh after the war of independence with Pakistan in 1971.
